Colin Mangham CEO & Founder
Biography [+]
..
Colin founded the Daily Brand Group on the belief that life is too short to waste a single day on anything that doesn't bring about a positive change, big or small ... "if it's worth doing, do it daily." Professionally he’s a senior strategist, creative director, writer, producer and entrepreneur. Above all he’s an integrator with an unbridled passion for connecting great people, ideas and resources, often during critically important formative stages and always somehow/someway for the proverbial Greater Good.
Colin’s 20+ years of expertise in transmedia branding, integrated marketing, design and entrepreneurial business development has supported the successes of household-name corporations with global wingspans (including 8 of the Fortune 100) as well as innovative start-ups equipped more simply with compelling ideas and visionary leadership. Clients include Bristol-Myers Squibb, Lucent Technologies, FOX Broadcasting, Procter & Gamble (Tide), Boeing, Foot Locker, Howard Johnson, DirecTV, Perfect water, Amgen, Delta Air Lines, Casio, United Airlines, EAU Technologies, Polycom, Speed Channel, Verizon, Dime Savings Bank, Oxygen Media, The EPA, Warner Bros., IOGEAR, Sprint, Israel Ministry of Tourism, Speed Channel, Nextel, WaMu, Castle Arch, Madison Square Garden and The New York Yankees.
He has worked as senior staff with agencies including Christy MacDougall Mitchell, LLKFB and The Centrifuge Group (as President/Founder) as well as in alliance with Saatchi & Saatchi, RPA, RPMC, Direct Partners, Mediacom and others. He has received awards from the Financial Communications Society, Western Publications Association, Macromedia, NewMedia/Invision, Step Inside Design, the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences, Promax and the Broadcast Design Association, for which he has twice served as a judge for the annual awards competition. Additionally, he serves on corporate Advisory Boards for Centri Technology, PeopleJar and Roys & Associates, and is an active member of Net Impact, the AIGA and other professional organizations.
Passionate about cinema, music and the visual arts, Colin has served as Vice Chairman of a Hong Kong based arts foundation (MOCA China), programmed films for the Aspen Filmfest and US Comedy Arts Festival, booked and promoted recording artists, written screenplays professionally, and published over 100 arts and entertainment articles. He has consulted non-profits including HENAAC (which he rebranded as Great Minds), the Los Angeles Archdiocese (created first-ever campaign for 227 elementary schools), the US Department of Health & Human Services (Let’s Move) and C5 Youth Foundation (formerly Camp Coca-Cola). He currently serves on the boards of C5 (LA), Beverly Hills Good Shepherd School and Project-Peace on Earth.
Colin was awarded his MBA with an emphasis on International Marketing from the University of Liverpool, England. His Master’s thesis, “The Luxury Brand and Its Growing Demand in China,” investigated trends toward more individualistic Chinese consumer behavior as a function of dramatically increasing affinities for luxury products and services. He is developing the 125-page dissertation into a Flip Thru Book entitled "The People's Daily Brand." He holds a B.S. (Honors) in Marketing with a Minor in English Literature from Louisiana State University, where he also served as President of Delta Kappa Epsilon fraternity.
More personally, Colin enjoys asking (and answering) "what if", turning an idea into a company, making something out of nothing, filling a white sheet of paper with a Sharpie, traveling (particularly in Southeast Asia), shuffling 25,000+ songs in iTunes, cruising PCH with the top down, cranking the Telecaster to 11, beginning his day with “I get to…” instead of “I have to…”, and hanging out pretty much anywhere/anytime with his wife, daughter and son.
